If you have Facebook, you can keep up to date in the discussion for the Thanksgiving Throwdown event HERE!
Join us for the Thanksgiving Throwdown MVP vs. Axiom Series Open Doubles Tournament. We are organizing this as a fundraiser to benefit an area family of 4 who has been dealing with a tremendously difficult road since the 4th of July when dad /father was hospitalized suddenly in very serious condition. In an attempt to help alleviate some of the normal financial burdens that the holidays incur on a family of 4 with 2 grade-school-aged children, we are putting together a fun day of fall disc golf with many other short games, challenges and raffles finished off with a pre-Thanksgiving Feast. With mom juggling it all and working as much as possible to maintain their household finances around regular hospital visits and two kids activity schedules, we wanted to raise some money to assist in their Christmas shopping for their son and daughter. It has been a long and difficult 3 months since the kids have seen their father and there is still a long road for him to fully recover and be able to come home. We hope to keep the family anonymous at this challenging time but our goal is to help bring a little magic to the Christmas season for this family and help lighten the load. With any additional questions, you can visit the Tournament Facebook Event Page via the link or reach out by way of text or call to Chris Jackson 440-339-7691
UPDATE On Friday, October 12th he was taken off life-saving measures. Now sadly we are trying to raise money to help ease the burden of the holidays while mourning the loss of a Father and Husband. Please get registered and involved. We appreciate your help and support as I’m sure the family involved will as well.
ALSO Please know that if you don’t have a partner it’s ok. We can draw partners on the day of the tournament. This is a charity fundraiser for fun and community support. It’s not like there is prize money. If you have any questions please feel free to call or text me.
With the Official Ace Race being cancelled, we will be doing an unofficial Ace Race event since we have reserved the course on 9/15 at 9:30. It will be a fundraiser for the club with a $5 buy in. $3 will go to prizes and $2 to the club. Come out and support Painesville Disc Golf!
The Ace Race has been cancelled because the we didn’t meet the minimum number of people at registration. However, because Painesville Disc Golf Club has already paid to reserve the park and pavilion, we plan on hosting an unofficial event on the same day (9/15). We will decide the format based on the number of people who show up. It could be a scramble or an ace format. If you are interested, show up by 9:30am so we can figure things out and get started. We throw at 10am sharp. See you then!
We are extending the Ace Race registration until this Sunday evening, 9/2 @ 8pm. We are quite short of the 20 needed to make this event a reality. If you want in the fun, please register or get 30 bucks to Mickey by then. We will be playing The Pond with shortened holes between 180-200ft which increases your chances for an Ace greatly! LETS FILL THIS!!!!
